Salman Khan is a muslim, he practices and applies all the true values of a Muslim, putting charity and welfare above all the commercials factor. This is the teaching of Islam.. putting the Akhirah before Du'nia.

He is a leader in our modern society because he is the founder of Khan Academy a teaching tool used through the internet. Leader In today's Society Salman Khan provides education in math and science through a non-profit institution called Khan Academy.
Salman Khan was born and raised in Metairie, Louisiana. His mother was born in Calcutta, India and his father was born in Barisal, Bangladesh.
Khan attended the public school Grace King High School in Metairie, Louisiana, where, as he recalls, "a few classmates were fresh out of jail and others were bound for top universities".
Khan attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, graduating with a BS in mathematics, a BS in electrical engineering and computer science, and an MS in electrical engineering and computer science in 1998. Khan was class president in his senior year.
Khan also holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
Khan lives with his wife, Umaima Marvi, a medical specialist in rheumatology and internal medicine, and with their son, Huzaifa Khan, and daughter, Manahil Khan in Cromwell, Connecticut.
Marvi herself is also a graduate of MIT, in 2001. She earned an M.D. from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 2005, then undertook her residency at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center and her fellowship in rheumatology at Stanford University. Khan met Marvi while he was completing his MBA at Harvard and she was completing her medical education.
